It’s all happening for the new X-Men installment nowadays. After a recent flurry of casting rumors and locks, in comes news of the actual story and time line for X-Men: First Class. The upcoming Matthew Vaughn directed film will take place in the 1960’s Kennedy-era and give us a substantial look into Charles Xavier (Professor X) and Erik Lehnsherr’s (Magneto) early years and friendship.

Personally I’m getting more and more excited for this movie as all the reports come in. The ensemble cast seems almost perfect (especially with Michael Fassbender and Rose Byrne) and going with a period piece was pretty much a necessity, I’m glad they aren’t trying to modernize it.

X-Men: First Class is currently scheduled for a June 3, 2011 release.
