Warner Bros. is looking to bring Neil Gaiman’s Vertigo comic The Sandman to a TV near you. Executives are also considering to bring on Eric Kripke, creator of Supernatural, to be the showrunner.
Published in 1989 with a 75 issue run, The Sandman was one of the most intellectual comics to hit the stands. The series focused on Dream and his siblings known as the Endless, Death, Desire, Despair, Delirium, Destruction and Destiny. There have always been rumors of an adaptation but this is the first time a known executive producer is attached to bring it to fruition. Personally I think Kripke would do a great job with Supernatural being the best example how he handled a genre show. What do you think?
honestly,I’d love to see Daivd Yates or Satoshi Kon do this-_- (yes I know Kon is dead, and anime-producer,but..)
I can’t see Kripke pulling this one off. I love Sandman to death, that might be why,. I am liking this, but dreading it.
It is somewhat frighting when a series is being adapted but keep in mind this might not be on network TV, i don’t see this being on the CW and a little tidbit, Kripke has stated that American Gods, a novel by Neil Gaiman, was an inspiration for Supernatural so its fitting in a way that he is considered.
