At a Netflix-sponsored event in Las Vegas recently, Arrested Development creator Mitch Hurwitz gave an update about the plan for the highly anticipated fourth season. He revealed that they will be shooting during the summer, and more surprisingly that they will be premiering the entire season in a single day!
Being able to watch the entire season without waiting week to week for episodes? Sounds great to me! The only possible downside to that would be fans losing the feeling of anticipation and wanting the season to last. Personally I think it’s a great idea since we’ve been waiting years for a possible movie, and I take it as a tip of the hat to the fans who have held onto hope this long.
Here’s what Hurwitz had to say about it:
That is now kind of evolving into becoming more like the old show again. There’s something exciting about trying to break the form again.
There’s going to be some mystery sprinkled throughout this [but] instead of watching one a week and try to get ahead of it, the hope is [fans] will watch them all together and then go back and look for clues and connections.
We’d also like to use the technology to provide additional material, where you might be able to access another part of the story. It’s comedy. The twists really aren’t as important as the characters.
Are you excited?
