Joss Whedon’s “S.H.I.E.L.D.” Coming to ABC
Earlier this month, Joss Whedon officially signed a deal with Marvel, which among other things, included developing a live action television series. Although it was previously unknown what TV series was being developed, Deadline has confirmed that Whedon will co-write, and possibly direct, the pilot for a series entitled “S.H.I.E.L.D.”
As I’m sure you already guessed, the show will focus on the massive government organization that plays a crucial role in the previous Marvel films, the most recent being the blockbuster mega-hit “The Avengers.” It is yet unknown if any of the characters from the films will be seen in the series, but one can only speculate that the character integration will be heavily reciprocal.
The pilot, which has been officially greenlit, will be written by Joss Whedon, his brother Jed Whedon, and Maurissa Tancharoen.
