Fan art is one of my favorite expressions of creativity and passion that I enjoy consuming on a daily basis. The easiest way to get my fan art fix is to visit Internet communities like Deviantart.com and Racketboy.com and have my eyes gorge themselves on page after page of beautiful nerdiness. But every once in a while, an opportunity arises for fan art to be viewed in an industry setting and the resulting experience is really quite special.
Nintendo offered Zelda fan artists such an opportunity when they issued their “Fan Art Challenge” on the company’s Facebook page. The contest rules are simple:
Share your The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD-inspired artwork for the chance to have it showcased during “The Legend of Zelda: Symphony of the Goddesses” tour.
To enter, simply submit a photo or video presenting your work of Zelda fan art between Aug. 22 – Sept. 2. alongside a short description. Winners will have their work of art showcased at the Seattle stop of The Legend of Zelda: Symphony of the Goddesses tour on Sept. 12 in front of thousands of other Zelda Fans!
Fifty of the top finalists will be selected to take part in the concert showcase while the top 5 entries will win a Wii U and a copy of the HD Wind Waker remake. The artwork will be displayed on screen and in the lobby during the concert.
Visit the Legend of Zelda Facebook page for full details on how to submit your entry. Let us know if you plan on submitting your artwork and we just might post it up on the site for good luck.
